Monitoring & Evaluation of the Water Project

We carried out a Monitoring and Evaluation visit to see the impact of « Water Project » in the zone of Rugeregere, Cibitoke province. The community says to be satisfied for the project improved their life positively

VISIT OF THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF IPSDI-BURUNDI ON THE FIELD TO CIBITOKE (WATER PROJECT)

On October 05, 2022, the Executive Director of IPSDI-Burundi, Mr Moise NTIGIRINZIGO went M&E at Cibitoke province where a drinking water connection project is being carried out by IPSDI-Burundi. Water tanks are being built and standpipes have already been completed. 

DISTRIBUTION OF SCHOOL MATERIAL

on 25th and 26th May 2023, we have distributed to students who are more vulnerable (orphans, handicapped students, Twa ethnic students, etc) school kits for the school year of 2023-2024. more than 600 students have received 6 copybooks and pens. the targeted school were:

  • ECOFO Kagwema II,
  • Kamakara Hope Fundamental School,
  • Mukungu Choi Jung Sook School.

IDENTIFICATION AND DISTRIBUTION OF SCHOOL AND HYGIENIC KITS AT SOBEL

IPSDI-Burundi carries out an identification of the most vulnerable children (orphans, handicapped, etc) from SOBEL Site (at Maramvya zone, Mutimbuzi Commune, Bujumbura Rural) in order to support them by distributing school and hygiene kits. This site hosts more than 6,000 children from families affected by the Gatumba floods in 2020 and 2021. they were given a pair of shoes, six copybooks, three pens and two soaps. But for young girls who had already seen their first period, these kits were accompanied by three boxes of sanitary napkins. However, the number of beneficiaries has been reduced to 300 for lack of resources.

VISIT TO MUKUNGU

While visiting the CED Cooperative of Mukungu, the Program Development Manager within IPSDI-Bdi went to Mukungu as part of the follow-up to the “Mukungu Livelihood Project”. in addition he encouraged the cooperative’s members to be resilient in order to reach the progress they want.

In the same vein, the Chief supervisor of field activities accompanied by the accountant of IPSDI-Burundi went to the distribution of materials (cement, nails, sheets) for the construction of pigsties as well as 100 modern hives.

 

NANJE NIGE PROJECT

Under the supervision of the Program Development Manager, Mr Elias SIBONIYO, an extended distribution of school materials was carried out by IPSDI-Bdi within the framework of the NANJE NIGE program. This program, which was previously called GIRLS BACK TO SCHOOL, this time includes all genres. A number of 6000 children from ECOFO KAGWEMA (Bubanza-Gihanga), ECOFO Kamakara (Cibitoke Rugombo) & ECOFO Mukungu (Bubanza, Musigati) benefited from uniforms, pens, and notebooks (six notebooks each), “these kits will decrease the yoke to weigh on the parents given that 50% of the children are from the Kamakara IDP site”, specifies Sylvain MUNYAKAZI, Director of Ecofo Kamakara.

THE MUKUNGU LIBRARY PROJECT

The Mukungu Library project is a project which has been implemented at Bubanza province, exactly at Musigati commune, at Mukungu location. This project consists of installing a library at Mukungu Choi Jung Sook School which will benefit all the students around to improve more in their education. However, many books (600 Books) covering different subjects have been disposed there for the comfort of the students; but also, the teachers while preparing their lessons. In addition, the library has a Flat TV which will enhance the knowledge of students and locals in that area.
